Hi! So I've decided to take my ttc journey by the horns and jump on the OPK bandwagon! I've not used them before nor have I temped (as ovulation was confirmed with bloods/ scans etc) but thought I should start..

I used one on Saturday, got two lines. Used one on Sunday, got two lines HOWEVER the instructions state that the test line should be the same colour or darker than the control line - whereas my test line was just a bit lighter.

So my question is: did I ovulate before Sat (poss Friday?) - have tested since and only the control line appeared so not testing anymore (due to cycle day)

Sorry to seem dumb and after 2.5 years of this ttc game you'd think I'd have tried opk's by now but I haven't...

Thanks!

YOu could of hun -the line is meant to be as dark if not darker than the control line but not everyone gets the textbook dark line - you should post them next time and we can all have a look. was it about the time of ov?

They say when using opk's that you should make sure that your holding your bladder for at least 3 hours and that you should test at the same time everyday and they say to not use FMU and that the best time to do it is between 12:00pm and 8:00pm..Hopefully that helps you out!!!

You may have ovulated before Saturday but not too sure, you may have done a test on Friday and it may have come up negative! Maybe if you tested monday the test line may have come up a bit darker then Sat and sundays..Goodluck with them!!!! I agree with Tansey you should take pics so we can see!!!

Thanks both! This weekend would have been about right for OV - unfortunately my last 2 cycles have been 25 days long rather than my usual 28 days (Clomid?) so if I have another 25 cycle then Thursday or Friday last week would have been about right for OV.

I read the instructions and so was sure not to test FMU and made sure I reduced my liquid intake 2 hours before POAS (I drink 2 litres + of water a day so that was no mean feat!)

The test line was very strong but not as dark as the control line so who knows!

Will ensure I post them next month - thanks for the advice ladies :o)
