Our little man Oscar arrived friday 28th december 10am weighing alb 15oz.
i had my sweep done on thursday 27th at 11:30 - instantly felt crampy and uncomfortable. i was already 2-3 cm dilated and midwife was very positive on me going into labour within 48 hours.
contractions started only coming every 10-15 mins and very manageable.
this went on all day and i said to my OH once i get into bed they are gonna pick up the pace so be warned! got woken up by pains and by 2am i was up walking about trying to get through the contractions. i put my tens on and got ready for hospital. we arrived by 4am and i was 4 cm. i was happy walking about and labouring with midwife listening to baby every 15 mins. but baby was becoming a little distressed with my contractions as they were coming very close together.
the decision was made to break my waters and get little man out sooner rather than later. i progressed from 4 cm to 10cm in 3 hours - they were some serious contractions. doctor got called in as i was having urges to push. he decided to help him out with ventouse as he was becoming stressed and my pushing wasnt quite enough. ( last baby was 5lbs so slight size difference for me)
after a few mins of careful pushing (and pulling) Oscar arrived without me tearing or having to be cut - hooray! he is a little star so well behaved and feeds like a dream.
