Hi ladies first of all sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but tbh I'm not quite sure which part of the forum this belongs in.. My son has a biopsy booked for tomorrow afternoon to test for ceiliac disease and I'm really struggling to make a decision on what to do with my baby girl. We have to go to a hospital 2 hours away and my mother is the only person we have who can look after our children, the only problem is she has bone problems meaning she will struggle with holding my very heavy 6 month old. We could be gone nearly all day & my LO is a very clingy baby who will not go down for very long at all so I'm worried sick about my mother not being able to hold her & her being left to cry for hours! :( I'm very tempted to take her with us but don't know if that would be a good idea as my son will need my full attention & it probably wouldnt be appropriate to bring a baby along! I could really use some advise! What would you do? xx

Could you take both your mother and the baby, so you can help each other out as needed and as much as possible for each of you in the circumstances?

Personally I'd leave your LO with your mum. She'll get attention there and I'm sure your mum won't just let her cry all the time. You'll be focusing on your son on that day but if you have both of them you might not be able up focus on either one :)

Well, when I have a hospital appointment for myself I usually get someone to come along with me so if Robyn is grizzly she can go for a walk or whatever while I actually go into the appointment. But while I'm waiting Robyn can have mummy cuddles and feed. But so far Robyn's been really good and kept quiet in the appointments.

Could your mum come with you to the hospital?

I'd take LO - and then another adult who can take her out if she gets grissly. However at 9 months I would leave Maddie at home with my mum - she no longer sleeps in the car and would be apocalyptic going all day without naps xx

I'd leave lo with your mum, they could have lots of cuddles lying on a bed if its hard for your mum to lift her. I hope the appointment goes well x
