Did this with my class this week . We were making bird friendly tree decorations for a tree decorating competition. We made lard and bird seed baubles, popcorn strings and half an orange emptied out and filled with seed and hung on a tree.
The best and easiest ( going to do with my kids) was cutting out bread with Xmas cutters, putting some string to hang it and decorating it by poking in bird seeds. These looking really effective.
