Hi!

I was just wondering how many over 30s there were on here waiting to concieve baby number two? How old will your first baby be when you start to ttc baby number two?

I am 31 and a half and my baby, Tristan, is nearly 8 months old. I am thinking of TTC a second baby in a year or so. I am wondering whether we should TTC sooner, like when Tristan turns one, or should wait a bit longer until he turns two.

On the one hand, a bigger age gap will allow us to spend heaps of time with just Tristan when he is young and he can have the benefit of this. On the other hand, if we wait for a few years, I will be around 33/34 when we have another baby, which is not old by any standards but I would ideally (if I can convince hubbie and if I am able) to have three children. This would mean having a third baby in my mid- late thirties, which would include more risk, more tests etc etc.

So, sorry for the rambling - but I am a bit confused. What are your views and what are your plans?

No one else in their 30s and thinking about baby number two then? Am I the only one!

:hugs:

You're not the only one :hugs: I just saw this. I'm in pretty much the same boat as you.

Alyssa is our first child, and she's 3 months old now. I'll be 33 in July, and we're thinking of starting to TTC in July next year, so as to have a 2yr or more age gap. That would make me 34 when TTC #2, and going on 35 when #2 is born, if we are lucky enough to get pregnant as quickly 2nd time around. We would also like to have 3 children, so that puts me into my late 30s when TTC #3 if we try for an approximate 2 year age gap between #2 and #3 as well. I have to admit the thought of increased risk and increased tests has me a bit anxious, but not so much so that it puts us off trying.

as usual, I'm a bit late to any post that directly affects me LOL. I'm 33, going to be 34 in August. We have a 2 1/2 year old son. We are stopping the bcp in August for 3 months to get ready to actively try in November, but of course NTNP has its own rewards. So if we get lucky, there will be 3 1/2 years between them. I'm excited but a bit nervous because we are going thru a patch of weirdness for the future so I'm not sure what the result will be. I'm slightly nervous about the older maternal age, but my doctors are amazing so it should be ok no matter what.

Thanks for replying girls!

I think that, as we are in our early thirties, we are still fairly young when ttc number two, especially when you hear of people in their late 30s, early 40s - even late 40s going for baby number one. I think it is more common nowadays when women have a career and stuff before a baby comes along.

I think, ideally I would have liked to have started a family when I was about 28, but as my DH is three years younger than me, he wouldn't have been ready then. We have spent 8 years together (just celebrated our second wedding anniversary last Tuesday:happydance:) and have done a lot of travelling, worked hard, socialised with friends etc - so had a really good time in our 20s. All things considered, I would have to say, having our first baby born last year was probably right for us. I would ideally like to be pregnant again late this year or early next year, if things work out for us ttc. We will have to wait and see I suppose. It is exciting planning ideas for the future though.

Good luck in your journeys as well.:hugs:

me me me!!! we're looking at trying again next spring! yay!!! xx

well I'm 29, 30 next February and have no plans to work on number 2 any time soon  Will wait until Hannah's at least 2, probably more like 3-4 before trying for another

I'm 33 and will be 34 when we start TTC for our second. Ideally I would like to leave a slightly longer gap but the clock is ticking so gotta get moving! I'd also like more than two but we'll see what happens, mum was 40 when she had me so fingers crossed the fertility runs in the family, lol.

LOL Know what you mean, mrs shine! It seems now that we've had Alyssa I can hear my clock ticking louder than ever!

I'm 33 and had Simon two weeks before my 33rd birthday.
I plan to TTC #2 in the new year. I want to give my body a full year break, but I also want about two years between kidlets.
I'm crossing my fingers that conception will be just as easy next time around. That would have me pregnant and possibly giving birth at 34, or pregnant at 34 and giving birth at 35.
I don't know about a third baby. My husband wants to stay open to the idea, but I also get nervous about crossing that 35 year mark.
It's not easy trying to plan work and finances and family, eh?
I don't like the clock ticking feeling, but I wouldn't trade the adventures and learning I did in my 20s for anything. This was the right time for me to become a parent.

It's funny isn't it, I never thought I'd get like it but if I had my way I'd be TTC now!!

Ditto! If it didn't mean 2 babies under a year old, potentially.... I think that's too much for us to handle right now. But boy, is it ever tempting!

I totally agree! I am sooooo broody just now.

Ok, now that Brenn is one, I guess it is time to admit I am WTTC.

So I will be 34 in 3 1/2 weeks, and I am not planning to TTC till late next summer. I have my hands full with my boy and I am not ready for another anytime soon. I am very happy to have 3 years between my kids. It will give Brenn plenty of our time before #2 comes. So if I get pregnant as easily as I did with Brenn, I will be almost 36 when #2 is born. Then we will wait and see about #3. I am kinda of hoping that #2 is an easy baby and maybe I will go for a 2 year age gap for #3, but if not then I will wait 2 years and TTc again, putting me at close to 40 for #3.

Yeaah - there is a bit of a group of us now!

Hi - I'm 33 and we're going to TTC in the new year. Emms will be 2 then if we conceive ok, I'll be 34. Feeling really broody at the moment tho! Emms has just started to sleep through the night and we are enjoying having her a bit older, so will make the most of Emms until next year. Cant help looking at newborns and thinking that I cant wait until no.2! x

I will be 30 when James is born.

I play to ttc for number two in three years so will be joining over here shortly.
