Found this while researching induction methods and thought it was funny :rofl:;

One of the legendary labor inducing remedy is the “Prego Pizza”. It was originally created by Skipolini's Pizza in Clayton, California in early 1980’s. The story tells of a woman in a very advanced state of pregnancy who happened to step into this restaurant and jokingly asked for a pizza that would make her have the baby soon. The chef created a masterpiece that had six types of meat and was loaded with fresh vegetables and extra basilica and extra garlic. The deeply pregnant woman left the restaurant after eating the newly created "Prego Pizza” -- and gave birth to a baby boy on that very same evening.

Basilica and oregano, which are common pizza toppings, have stimulant properties on the uterus. In aromatherapy circles, these herbs and their essential oils are to be avoided, whenever possible, during pregnancy. Thus, basilica and oregano might be behind the success of the “Prego Pizza”

It's really just an urban legend, but you never know it sounds just as barmy as a lot of suggestions i've heard.

Sorry to bump, but my friend is overdue and wanted to share this with her :)

Hope it makes you laugh too, and if you are overdue - good luck. x

*gets some pizza dough going in the bread maker*

Yeah, I know, not 'full term' yet, but I have till the 5th August to get this little lady out on my own or I'm having a section.

TBH angel dust.. having a baby before 36 weeks can be really dangerous. There is no telling how well developed your babies lungs will be. I would keep my legs closed and have the section.

It's more dangerous for me right now. I'm at the stage where my next trip to hospital with any symptom (BP a bit higher, headache, bad contractions, ketones in urine etc) is an automatic section. I've never gotten to 36 weeks. Besides, if pineapple, basil and oregano (or any of the other DIY inductions) actually worked nobody would get to full term. This stuff is a bit of a laugh. (and if that pizza worked I'd have had her ages ago, most of my home-made food contains basil and oregano)

:) Good. There are way too many who want their babys out early for no reason other than that they want them out early.

I tried everything. I will tell you what convinced my LO to come out thoug.. I went on the swings on the park, my waters broke that night and she was born the following day

If it wasn't for everything I went through with DS2, I'd be happy to leave her in there, even with the SPD! I don't have to change nappies or do night feeds or pack a huge bag before going out!

HEHE weve already agreeded its pizza for dinner tomorrow night.... after my sweep in the afternoon ;) lets see if it helps! 8 days over due today

So what should go on this pizza?

Pineapple
Basil
Oregano
Spices
Evening primrose oil drizzled over the top
Semen??? :nope: (sorry!) :haha:

How far are you willing to take it?
