Ovulating after MC

I suffered a miscarriage 2 weeks ago at 5 weeks pregnant - I had a scan on Monday which confirmed no sign of pregnancy in my uterus but they then wanted to perform blood tests to check whats happening. I had one on Monday and that came out at 190 and then another today which dropped to 173. I'm back on Friday for another but my question in the meantime is could I ovulate when I still have some of the pregnancy hormone in my system? I noticed quite I had quite a lot of EWCM yesterday and didn't know if it was possible.

Oh i dont think your body can actually release an egg until your level has returned to 0 but am not 100% sure

I asked my gyne the same question last week & he said you can sometimes ovulate before your HCG goes back to less than 5miu, then if you conceive the hormone just builds on top of what was left. I'm not sure how this works tho.

I'm charting my temps so I can see if I do ovulate before I get a BFN.

I was told it was very unlikely that a cycle would 'restart' until the body was clear of HCG.

After my mc, I did HPT's until I got a total BFN, and bingo, I Ov'd right on time 17 days later, so it seems that at least for me, the docs were right. I suspect that everyone maybe different, but I guess it is more likely that your body needs to be a clear as poss to start afresh....

Mnnnn... I'm not too sure about this.
I got my BFN about 2 weeks after MC, and then think I ovulated yesterday- 3 weeks after MC.

So... I just don't know!!

It took me until CD36 to ovulate again,.. and I was normally a 32day cycle person.

Silly body....

I O'd 3 weeks after my levels went back down again.
Same scenario i was told you cant really O until levels are 'normal'

well had another blood test yesterday and levels r still coming down ever so slowly - were at 151 yesterday (down from 173 48 hrs before) and the hops seem concerned that they aren't dropping quicker so had to have another scan and the Dr still couldn't see anything abnormal and she said in fact my womb lining looks like it should mid cycle!
I think cause I didn't bleed very heavily they're concerned about ectopic but she had a good poke and prod around and there was no pain or anything so they're happy to just carry on with the expectant management at the moment.
I'm back to the hosp in 2 weeks for another blood test and scan and depending on what happens then they may well give me a shot of methotrexate.

With my 6 weeks m/c in January on the day I got a scan to confirm all tissue was gone, which was also the day I passed my last clot, my hcg level was 50.

I ovulated exactly 14 days after this and am now pg again, dates confirming when I ovulated. So it is possible!!

My hcg was down to 5 a week after the scan.

All so confusing to me, I thought they were supposed to drop quicker than this!

Yeah it is isn't.
They don't seem to want to say too much but I get the impression that my hormone levels should have been a lot lower when i had the first blood test seeing as that was over a week since i started bleeding and then that they should have dropped a lot quicker and have been a lot closer to 0 last Friday. The Dr that I saw on Fri even had to refer me and get the opinion of the most senior consultant there to decide what to do with me!!!!

Over the weekend I had a bit of period like cramping and spotting and really thought I was gonna start bleeding again - but no apparently not! They did say when I had the last scan that there was a bit of fluid around my left ovary, not much and they weren't at all concerned about it - so mayb the spotting i experienced was that fluid they saw on the scan!

Its all just so frustrating - I just wish I knew what was going on and that my body would get back to normal!!!

I had a scan a week ago monday and friday just gone and on both scans they couldn't see any sign of any tissue remaining but on friday my hcg levels were still at 151!!!

The first day of bleeding was 3 weeks ago tomorrow and it only lasted 3 days - it wasn't particularly heavy and I didn't pass any significant clots or tissue - which is why the hosp were concerned and decided to do the blood tests - apparently they wouldn't normally after a clear scan like mine but as I didn't bleed very heavily and I also had a c-section with my son they were worried and concerned that it could be ectopic!
