I got a positive OPK on Saturday (smiley face, so no doubt) so my DH and I have BD the past two days and will today, take tomorrow off, then Wednesday. I definitely think I'm going to O today - heartburn, mild cramps, sore nipples - but I haven't had EWCM. Anyone else experience this? Is a lack of it a bad sign?

Feeling so hopeful about the timing - we have been trying since May, but this is only my second month ovulating, and naturally! Last month we didnt BD enough so FX ...!! :happydance:

Hey girl -
I don't know what kind of sign it is but it's happening to me this cycle as well. +opk yesterday and today.. yesterday no cm at all and today it is white and very thick. I know I o'd for sure too.. had the pain on my right ovary.. sore nipples.. etc. In my googling I don't think it's necessarily a "bad" thing! Good luck!

It's pretty normal for some women to not get the EWCM and still ovulate, so I wouldn't stress if you don't see it.

For me, I only see EWCM once in a while, but I was always get the clear/wet CM each month, which is the second most fertile type of CM.

I've actually started taking evening primrose oil this cycle, as lots of girls have said it has helped with the quality and quantity of their CM, and I have to say that so far it really appears to work!
I usually only see small amounts of Dry CM up to about CD10-11 (I have a long cycle and don't see fertile CM till about CD16 at earliest), and in this cycle I saw EWCM on CD9, and from CD10-12 I have had clear/wet CM. Today on CD13 I have had creamy.. which is throwing me off a little, but either way, the primrose oil seems to be working! So highly reccommend it if you feel you're not seeing enough of the fertile CM!

Since I've been TTC, I've NEEVVVERRRR had EWCM. Like, not even once. So I use Pre-seed lubricant from day 11 or 12 of my cycle when we BD.

You're timing sounds great, I wouldn't worry about the EWCM. We're on our 9th cycle right now and out of that time I've only ever seen EWCM once and my gyno didn't seem to think that was a problem. Ultrasound confirmed O previously and my temps confirmed O this cycle so you're still ovulating even if you're not getting the cm seen as "correct".

If I can give just one tip.Try drinking a lot of water.I don't know, maybe you do already, but I always only got the clear/wet CM,not the EWCM, and I read that you need a lot of water, since CM can only be ample if you are well hydrated.Since I'm not a big water drinker,I started making the conscious effort to drink more, and voila, the 2 cycles I did that,I actually got EWCM (only 1 day near O,but still) and the 2nd cycle we conceived.I definitely think it helped, since I knew I was ovulating (going by all my symptoms) but I just didn't have enough of the EWCM.

I agree with Animo - I hardly get ewcm so this cycle I drank lots of water and we used Pre-seed also! I'm not sure if it worked... af is due today, I'm normally on time but so far fingers crossed she's not showed!

I feel like af's on it's way. I'm 14 dpo and too scared to see a BFN so waiting to test...

Thank you for asking this question! I never get -or at least notice- any EWCM, just wet (basically all the time? lol sorry TMI)!

It's so confusing...even though my cycles have been consistently 28 days, I'm worried I will have trouble when it comes time to TTC?!

Another thing - I wonder sometimes if I don't have CM because I am checking too often and bringing it all down with me! I find there is always more if I check straight after a bowel movement... (sorry I know TMI but might help)

I'm so glad this thread was created... I thought I was alone in the world. I've never seen EWCM. I get dry, watery, sticky, etc but NEVER seen EWCM. I got my first positive OPK this month and the symptoms of O, but never the CM that goes along with it. I take evening primrose oil and it does seem to help. Hubby hates Preseed, but I'm trying to convince him we need it.

I hope this thread keeps going. I love to hear a BFP success story from someone that didn't get the EWCM.

Good luck to you all!

Thanks for starting this thread. I've never noticed EWCM either, and don't know if I have it and just haven't seen it. I'm going to be actively looking for it this cycle. I read somewhere that if u don't have the fertile CM (EWCM or wet), then your chances of conceiving are much lower since the spermies don't get to where they need to be.
