Ovulation...? Confused Much...? Oh yes!!

So Ive been doing a home OPK for the last 5 days and still no positive! This is my third cycle of TTC but its my first month of doing the home OPK's. I know my cycle length is 28 days therefore ovulation should normally take place between CD12-17. Today is CD12 and still test is showing up as negative....Im so nervous incase I find out that I dont actually ovulate...anyone else feel like this?

I've used opks for the last two cycles and haven't had a single positive, even though I know that I've ovulated (symptoms and temping). It's easy to miss the surge as it can last as little as 12 hours. It doesn't necessarily mean that you've not ovulated! Do you chart your temps? Have you had any other symptoms or CM?

OPKs don't work for everyone, even if you ovulate. They also show the surge between 48 and 12 hours before ovulation, so if you're going to ovulate on the 14th (for example), they might not go positive yet.

One book I read suggested doing the OPK when you first wake up and then again in the late afternoon/early evening to make sure you catch the surge. If you do it during the day they say to hold it for a while first so the hormone concentrations have time to build up.

If you're concerned about ovulation you should start temping. OPKs can predict possible ovulation, but the way to know for sure that you are ovulating is by taking your temperature at the same time every morning and looking for that spike.

Thanks for info ladies.....I havent been charting but im guna start it this weekend. However I have no idea what to do....lol! When charting how will i know im ovulating? Will temp go up or down? x

Lipsty havent really had any other symptoms really apart from my tummy feels abit painful like ive got AF arriving....is this a symptom?
