Is there anyway by just ewcm alone can you tell you ovulated? I had it only one time in one cycle for a few hours

No, ultrasound monitoring and progesterone draw are reliable. EWCM is not a necessary or requirement for ovulation or conception, it's only considered to be a good sign of ovulation
