Just wondering how many oz of formula your LOs are taking in a day?

Mine takes 3 with an occasional extra ounce

If he has a night feed 750ml if no night feed then 600mls, but he does have 3 meals a day and hates his milk (neocate) so it is a challenge getting him to take that much. So we have to hide good portion of that milk in his food.

At 6 months willow really went off milk due to teething and viruses, she was taking between 10-18oz a day, and was having 2 "meals" a day...so about 1/2 pouch of food a day in total.

Saying that she's never been a big milk drinker, maximum 26oz in a day, and now she's on 3 good meals a day she takes 16-22oz at 10 months.

He was on 6x 8oz in 24hrs ( beast i know) now we have started weaing and he on two meals and a snack every day he dropped to 4x 7oz.

I would say roughly 25-30. She has days where she'll drain 4 or 5 8oz bottles (but they're rare). More commonly she'll have 4 6-7oz bottles xx

I have her 6 month check on monday and was just making sure she is taking enough. My HV is a cow and criticises everything. She is averaging 27-30oz a day so that seem about right?

ds used to take 4 6oz bottles a day before he got reflux at 3months.
now he has anything between 4-6oz each bottle and 4-5bottles a day, it normally balences out at 5oz each bottle. he has reflux though so he don't always feed as well or take as much as a baby without reflux. he's 5months now

my LO has 4x 6oz bottles but usually leaves an ounce in a couple. so 20/22oz a day. though for the past few days she's left most or all of one bottle. the minx! she has around 1/2 jars worth of food and a teeny portion of ready brek, not a big eater!

yeah your LO sounds good n healthy! silly HVs and their doubt-making!!

about 35oz total - 5 7oz bottles

Is your LO weaned? If he is do you mix milk with breakfast etc. My LO gone off milk completely :-(

yup, hes on three meals:
6:00am - 7oz bottle
7:00am - Rice cereal/Oat cereal in the morning (mixed with about 50ml of formula) and applesauce
9:30 - 7oz bottle
12:30pm - 7 oz
1:30 - 4.5oz or carrots/sweet potatoes/peas/beans/whatever I have made!
4:30 - 7oz
5:30 - Rice cereal w/ 4.5oz of veggies
6:45 - 7-8oz bottle

Mines is terrible. Ive been panicing about it since i got the letter in on wednesday. I know ill be doing something wrong lol

sounds like your LO is taking plenty hon!! Forgot to say my LO has porridge after her morning bottle (she usually only takes 5 oz from her morning bottle so I use the leftover to make the cereal!) and then either a little pot of fruit or veg from the freezer or half a small banana later in the day :)

Am pleased you asked this! My LO is 19 weeks and I've just started weaning him. At the moment he has 4 bottles of 8.5 or 9oz each time, so approx 35oz in 24hrs. So far I've simply given him some baby rice made up with 1 or 2 of those oz at first with 1 bottle then with 2. So he basically has it at the same time as his bottles.

When I start purées I am wondering do I give them at different times from his bottles? So confusing!! Have a feeling ill spend most of each day feeding him in one way or another!

Yes and i always offer milk first. Everyone has their own method. This is what works for me.

7 am milk 6-7oz
9am cereal made with 3 oz milk
12pm milk 6 oz followed by fruit puree
3pm milk 6-7oz
4pm dinner whatever ive made
7pm milk 6-8oz

Sometimes she also gets milk in her dinner depending how much she has took that day. She takes alot of food at each sitting and would gladly give up milk completely lol

My LO's intake really varies day to day. Her bottles are anywhere between 4 and 7 ounces and she has between 5 and 7 a day. I know, a huge range... My pediatrician told me recently they did a study that showed that most babies do vary their calorie intake day to day, just like adults. Thought that was interesting!

It's so confusing, I know! We just had an appointment with our pediatrician and she said to offer solids after milk, so that baby is still getting their primary nutrition from breast milk or formula. "Food for fun until one", essentially. I don't think they're really supposed to drop bottles or replace them with solids until about 9 months if I'm not mistaken? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm just starting TW.

it confused me too, and i wanted to go with food at bottle times because yes otherwise it's just feed feed all day long. but it didn't work...maybe other babies it might work for...atm we do

7am ish, 6oz bottle
9.30am small porridge w/fruit puree
11am 6oz bottle (minus about 1/2-1 oz used for the porridge)
12.30pm 1/4 jar veg meal and 1/4 jar fruit (or small yog)
2pm 6oz bottle
5pm small porridge or half banana etc
6.30pm 6oz bottle.

the times vary by half hour here n there. but now i'm wondering about that last meal/snack cos she won't drink her bedtime bottle.

it's soooo confusing and a LOT of trial n error....

24-26oz on a good day :(

My LO has also totally gone off milk. We have started weaning but are doing BLW and he isn't really eating anything yet.
