I've been having an achey pain round my lower abdomen and sides of my back today. And I just went to the toilet and discovered this monstrosity in my panty liner! I know it's so gross but I just want to know whether I should be worrying or if you think this is normal, alongside the pain?

I lose fair bit which looks like mucus plug but in 20p sizes at the most i know from previous babies it just regrows so never a concern to me.

Thats a large amount, and plus your feeling uncomfortable id seek some medical advice to be on the safe side.

I would be calling my midwife/doctor and asking to be seen. If you are going into premature labour there are drugs that can help ease contractions and steroids to help baby.

That looks just like when I lost my mucus plug when I went into labour.

It could well be nothing but it's certainly worth getting checked.

The mucus plug bit wouldn't worry me - I have that fairly frequently. But that combined with aches and pains is worth checking. I'm sure it's nothing but if I was you I would still get myself checked out by a professional! xx

I get this every now and again. I also had it blood streaked, but the hospital say it's common to lose some plug and it regenerates. They weren't concerned, but if you are get it checked out. Especially of your cramping or have an increase in watery discharge.

to me it looks like normal pregnancy discharge-could be a bit of the mucus plug but you can lose that gradually throughout the latter bit of pregnancy and all be OK. Do they pains have a pattern? if so, I would call to get checked out..if they have no pattern and are more random and not very painful I would put them down to being more typical pregnancy stretching pain, but use your discretion! You know your body best :)

I have similar looking bits (much smaller) but I have no discomfort. And I heard it grows back so it's fine. As it's quite large and you're uncomfortable I would ask to be seen and to have what you've found in your panty liner xx

That looks like a lot to me, something that I would at least keep track of.

I've had several times where there's been at least that much (and sometimes more!) mucus when I've gone to the bathroom... it's normal. But it never hurts to be on the safe side and call in, especially if you're experiencing pain. They'd much rather be able to tell you that you're just fine vs you not calling, and something being wrong.

Better safe than sorry, every time! :flower:

This is strange because I've literally gone to the bathroom and found something very similar after I've wiped. As I said before, I've had small bits but this time it was quite big.

My cervix felt different though this time. Do you have a change in your cervix?

Let me know what you end up doing if you get it checked, I'm calling my midwife in the morning unless I get anything strange happen before then.
