Any advice for dealing with cramps after having LO? I've had my baby yesterday as I was induced and had him vaginally. Luckily I didn't tear at all but the cramping pains are killing me. Much worse than with my other pregnancies. I don't want to take pain meds and was wondering what some of you have tried to cope?

are you still in the hospital? they gave me percocet mixed with motrin - said it was safe when breastfeeding.

I like to take a bath, have a little tummy massage and hot water bottle. It doesnt last long, I found it was gone about 4-5 days after birth.

I completely sympathise with you! With my last two (had four, pregnant with fifth) my afterpains were awful and I was desperately wishing for gas and air again!! They only seemed intense when I was feeding though. I just took paracetamol I think, and tried to time it working with the feeds. I remember trying to relax and breathe through the pain like a contraction. I imagine baths are good too if you have pain regularly. The pains got gradually less painful with every day that passed though, and they were completely gone within a few days. It won't last long!!
