I had my second c-section in Aug 2012. The dr that delivered my daughter said during the c-section he noticed my uterus was paper thin. I never thought to ask anything further because we didn't want any more children. Well surprise, surprise... I am pregnant again. Now we have moved to Texas and I am seeing another dr. I mentioned to the nurse what my last Dr said about my uterus and they didn't seem all that concerned. I am very concerned.... scared too death actually. I am now wishing I would have asked that Dr more questions after delivery....

ive been worried about the same so just researched it and found most anything that we couldve done to thicken the lining had to be done pre pregnancy:( I have heard stories of some women's so thin they could see the baby through it, but I hope that was just people exaggerating because that is what freaked me out!

I hope I don't have any problems carrying the baby. I'm so worried. I'm going to address it with my dr at my next appt

i plan to do the same. I don't have any more appointments until 16 weeks. such torture! I haev been terrified as well.

When i first had my son, the doctors (not my doc) said to not get pregnant again due to the condition of my uterus. Then, at my post partum appointment, 20 months ago, my doctor said I can have one more (no more than that) and will need a vertical incision due to the thinness of the uterus. but he is gone now so need more information. Like you, i didn't ask too much because right after my baby I just wasn't thinking of more babies. I am afraid because one doc said not to do it and one said its just fine but he isn't here of course. So scary!

Have you only had one csection? My 16 week appt is the 25th of this month and I am so anxious to talk to her about it. The most I have been told so far is no VBAC and no going into labor

The odds of issues are relatively small. Most doctors would not allow VBAC with this kind of "mentioning". But you'll be fine, with another csection :)

Thank u :) I was worried about my uterus being strong enough to carry the baby. I hope all goes well

The term paper thin can be different from each doctor anyways... a doctor could also tell a women this because "they" personally think they should be done having kids, regardless of it being right or wrong :(

I have had 2 and after the second one the doc who did the section suggested I have no more kids. My regular doctor said I can do one more so here i am! fingers crossed for us. I also worry about carrying the baby to term or close and risks of rupturing and dying or something. Just so frightening:(

My appt is Thursday and I am going to ask her about the risks and what she thinks. I will definitely update you ladies.

wouldn't this put you at risk of rupture? I have half a uterus (banana shaped) and I was warned as my uterus would be over stretched and thin if I went ahead with No 2 it should be ok that No 3 would be very dangerous.

My last c-section was 8/2012 so that really freaks me out too. It wasn't that long ago. I hope the Dr can provide helpful advice on Thursday!

Basically, any cramps they many want you to come in, you may have extra ultrasounds, monitoring and more appointments once you hit 20-26 weeks.

I read some about it online and that was a bad idea! It was scary. The good news is most of what I read said that the majority of cases occur when the woman is in labor not just randomly during th pregnancy. It is possible for it to rupture during the pregnancy but it said it is very rare.

Well, I went into labor with my scheduled c section last time for no reason so its not that out of the realm to go into labor still!

I have had the worst cramps all of 1st trimester. I am sure its due to the condition of my uterus.

Have you talked to your Dr yet about it? I have had alot of cramping too

Ok so I had my appt today and asked the Dr about the uterus issue. She said not to worry about it right now that it is more of a concern if you go into labor. She said they will take the baby a week or so early to prevent me from having the chance to go into labor. If for some reason I start having contractions before then and I am past 36 weeks they will take the baby then.

I did ask about the cramping but was just told it was my 3rd, so much more expected. I hadn't even gotten into conversation about my uterus issue with them yet, but hope to soon. I am switching doctors though, I hate this clinic so its ocmplicated!

Glad to hear they're not too worried. I did go into early labor with my 2nd even with a scheduled c section, so am very worried about it still. Is this the last one you can have then?
