Particular brand of formula causing wind?

Meadow has cow and gate with MAM bottles. In the last week shes had terrible trapped wind in the evenings. Its making her scream. Ive tried infacol and gripe water but neither really make a difference. Someone mentioned to me that it could be the brand of milk or I should try easy digest milk? What do you think? She had no trouble with wind when she was completely boobie fed.

i think cow and gate do a comfort one thts easier for them to digest..

with regards to the trapped wind i found tht colief worked better than the infacol.. though its quite expensive (9.99 for 7ml!) i managed to get luisas on perscription you only need a few drops per feed so it goes a long way

Fromulas are often iron fortified and BM isnt... so iron can often cause wind and colic symptoms... Ive always used a brand with lower iron which helped a ton, but I dont know if you guys have anything like that there.

infacol takes time to work hon, so i used to find gripe water really good for instant relief, hope it passes soon honey x x

We only have gripe water here but it works really well.

Hiya, my little girl was also very windy and uncomfortable with it when I made the transition to mostly ff. I always use infacol. I always assumed it was the bottles that were the problem, as sometimes she faffs about and gets distracted with noises etc, so often disrupts the feeding flow!

i just changed from cow and gate yesterday for the very same thing hun, seems to be a close match to babies that were bf. might be worth a try, rhys seems alot better today.

wow im surprised gripe water worls for everyone. i swear its just water for leeanne, it doesnt do anything to help lol

I think all formula's sit differntly with babies, i as a baby would projectile everywhere on C&G yet on SMA i had no problems, yet it could be the other way for others,

What are you doing with the infacol? I used to put it in the bottle with the feeds.

Gripe water also worked really well for us too!!

I didnt think of putting it in her bottles. Thats a really good idea because she hates the taste of it and screams. Can Gripe water go in feeds too?

oops forgot to say lol, using aptimil now, i was to start with but cow and gate was cheaper so swapped but now swapped back he been alot better today.
not sure if its the milk or not could be coincidence but aptimil has them iminofortis thing in it, better for digestion apparently seems to be really popular with everyone on here,
