Unfortunately I'm fairly certain Niamh has contracted this. She had a slight fever (gone now), flu like symptoms, cold, runny nose and now has a rash which started on her face this afternoon & is now all over her body.

A look on the internet says its common in schoolchildren, not babies and infants but that it will just pass on its own after 3 weeks.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I caught it in pregnancy hun, which can be pretty dangerous for an unborn child, I had to have loads of extra scans.

From all the reading I did it is not dangerous at all to infants, children or adults, just a pain in the backside!

Hope she recovers soon.

oh hun i hope she's ok! i've never known anyone with it, maybe ring nhs direct and see what they say with her bein so young xx

i dont no anything about this hun just wanted to send big
hope she feels better soon x

Just rang NHS 24 and we're going to take her into the hospital just to see an out of hours GP. They agree it's nothing serious, but want to give her some sort of pain relief to make her more comfortable.

Bless her, hope it goes ok hun xx

Hows she doing now honey????:hugs:

Lauren got this in her 3rd week of Nursery school when she was just 3:cry:. She was ok but just out of sorts and a bit whingey. Recovered within a few days:happydance:
