How many of you have got your kids a passport when the father isn't on the birth cert?

I have an appointment in the London office to get her passport on the one week service and I've to take her birth cert, photos, application all filled out correctly and I think that's it.. I need it to get sent that day as we need it for holidays end of July, but what I'm wondering is what will they ask about the father side of the passport and birth cert? As I know they usually need both parents passport numbers.. While I could probably easily get that info.. He's not on the birth cert so I don't want him to be on the passport at all??

Anyone got a passport recently?

Thanksss x

As far as im aware you wont have any issues as father is only considered necessary if he's got parental rights as he's not on her BC im sure you will be ok xx

Oh rite so they're not gonna be asking for his details or anything?

No they wont as long as you have a british passport she's entitled without him. They usually only question it in cases of immigration/citizenship etc xx

If they do ask... To be honest, he's not on the birth certificate.. Just say 'I've no idea where he is'. ! Or who he is.. although they might look at you funny... Youll never see them again :P x

Ha ha that's true! Just was worried it would cause a hold up but to be honest his mum way may well be with me anyway! :/ but I'll just get her to sit outside I guess ha ha! :/
