I am almost 28 years old and have been diagnosed with PCOS on both ovaries. My doctor sucked to be perfectly honest and I have no idea what my results on certain tests were but what I do know is I have 27 cysts on my right ovary and 32 on my left. He tells me getting pregnant will be no problem just take this pill metformin and watch youll be pregnant in no time. Well my husband and I have been TTC over 2 years now so what I wanna know is this. Have any of you been diagnosed with this and sucessfully conceived? Because at this point I dont know what to think. Any advice either?! Thanks...:-k

Just curious what dosage of metformin you are on? Two 500mg pills a day did nothing, but I am convinced when I bumped up to 1,000mg twice a day, it did.

Yes I have. Took metformin and still needed help. Clomid and hcg trigger shots got me to ovulate right. After taking a pill to induce my period to help reduce the cysts. I believe its a provera type pill..I also had to have a laparscopy to open my tubes. And concieved my first right after that ( along with clomid and hcg) metformin can help, but I don't really believe it to be super helpful in severe cases. Also as annoying as it is...diet does play a big part for us pcos'ers. It is possible, good luck hun!

angelbabii i have pcos (12 cysts on right ovary) only found out last year and i have had 2 healthy babies on my own so yes it can be done xx

I too was diagnosed with PCOS last year. They put me on metformin 500mg, that didn't do much so upped it to 1000mg. I conceived on that alone in July but then sadly that ended in MC. Then I was put on clomid 50mg and conceived with that in november, sadly another mc (very early though, so maybe chemical). Anyway, was surprised that after mc in November I ovulated on just metformin 2 months in a row, and now i'm back on clomid. Can be on that for 4 more months. So yes it is possible to conceive with PCOS and I personally cannot rate metformin highly enough. I swear it's made my hair thicker too which is a nice side effect :D So i know its tough but it's not the end of the world at all. Good luck!:flower:

Hi ladies,
Hope you dont mind me dropping in, have been lurking for a while and need a rant and some advice! I'm 45 and have realised I've probably got pcos. Have been back and forth to G.P and hospital for over a year, but they're just putting it down to my age and the menopause,(despite tests coming back neg) not listening to me at all:growlmad: My G.P seems reluctant to do any thing to help restore my cycle, saying at my age what do I want periods for? Aagghh! Surely the excess facial hair, rapid weight gain that is oh so slow to shift, numerous skin tags, thinning hair, extreme thirst if i carbo load/have too many sweeties, tiredness, history of cysts in my 20's should give him a clue you would have thought.
Have researched lots of supplements to help with this and despite feeling BLAH am determined to see if i can make a difference. Have any of you had success with herbs/supplements?
Thanks for listening ladies, sorry to rant on so long lol!

I'm also 28 and diagnosed with PCOS. Was put on Metformin 850 twice a day to help. If that hadn't worked, I was gonna be put on Provera. Still waiting for something other than AF to show up :) But yes, you can conceive with PCOS. Just might need a bit of help
