Hello everyone. I am very lost at what to do and need some positive affirmation. My DH and i have been ttc for about a yr now, longer if you count before seeing the fertility specialist. I have PCOS and take metformin.
We have tried about 6 cycles of clomid and timed intercourse and 2 cycles clomid (150mg worked best for me) with ovidrel trigger and timing, and 3 cycles clomid ovidrel iui. No luck at all. I get good follicles she says i respond beautifully to the meds just no BFP. DH specimen always looks great too. :(
So we set up an appt to talk about "next steps". She said i do repsond well to the clomid but that its just not working out so she would like to move on to more aggressive injectibles like follistism aq or gonal -f. Either with IUI for one try or IVF. Option one with IUI has a 15% chance (natural fertility she says is 18%) but less control on mulitples. Cost around 3000.
IVF has about a 45% chance and more control on multiples she said she would put 2 fertilized eggs back in because of my age, im only turning 30 this month.... but cost is around 11000. I hate to say cost is really an issue, but im a worrier and am scared to put us in financial trouble on a chance, even though we both want a family sooooooo bad.
Im just not sure what to do im leaning towards option one with iui just because its more attainable for us right now, but im just nervous. i was hoping someone had a positive first round follistim or gonal f with ovidrel iui story to share. Thank you in advance
Joyce

Thinking that there is a right way to do this (or lots of other things) is likely to keep you stuck in place, not moving forward, not sharing the best of what you've got and who you are with those who value your knowledge and point of view.
Many kids want a spare bed in their room for sleepovers. You can save space by purchasing a sofa bed that you children can sit on, but that can be converted to a bed when their best friend stays over.

Thanks for taking time to respond, im not sure what i got out of that but i appreciate your effort :)
