I orginally had the same devastating diagnosis. Diagnosed by hsg - sonohystogram.
Then I had a lap surgery to remove both of my tubes - as my fertility specialist advised it was the only way to go forward followed by ivf. I did tons of my own research on hydrosalpinx and it seems next to impossible to me to conceive naturally - even with ivf - it isn't worth doing ivf with hydrosalpinx - unless you have the tubes removed.
Shockingly, when I went for my lap surgery - the surgeon found that I did not have hydrosalpinx tube - but rather a fluid filled cyst sitting on top of my tubes.
Goodluck and feel free to ask me any questions - hopefully I can be of some help.
Yes the best success is removing the tube. Many articles that I read suggest that even ivf is very unlikely to work. Ivf typically has a 50% success rate - and with hydrosalpinx tubes - is goes to like 10% or less.
You are lucky in one way that they found it. Many people find out after mulitple failed ivf's and they have spent a fortune.
