Peanuts & b/feeding

Are any of you avoiding peanuts whilst breastfeeding? I haven't had any since becoming pregnant but don't know if I can treat myself to a peanut butter sandwich! I have no allergies but hub has mild hayfever.

peanuts are fine they arnt really a nut they are a seed, unless someone in your family is deathly allergic i think youll be fine xx

As long as nobody in your family is allergic you should be fine.

As I started to introduce nuts into my diet I just watched Jasper VERY closely for any change, but all was well. Nobody in either family has any food allergies, so I was really worried, but it doesn't hurt to be aware.

No nut allergies in our family and I've never so much avoided nuts altogether, just not really a nutty binger. Other than the odd bit of peanut butter, a snickers a handfull here or there or the trace bits they warn you about on most food packets I cant really say I ingest much and it's never done my kids any harm.

Well I had peanut butter and jam on toast this morning and have fed LO a few times with no reaction so touch wood it's all fine!!

No seriosuly I didnt know I was mean to be avoiding it although I did althrough pregnancy but I had peanut butter (on its own!) on toast this morning and so far Leo is fine and we have all sorts of allergies on our family.

You should try it, it's delish. Has to be raspberry jam though and it's even nicer in a buttie using Warbies white toastie bread
