Which one is better for constipation? Right now I am giving LO 2 oz pear juice + 2 oz water twice/day to help w/her lack of bm's. I was just wondering, how effective is the pear compared to prune juice? I wanted to try pear first considering the prune causes cramping when I drink it...just wanted to start safe and see how well it worked. Also, how long after incorporating juice does it take to start helping?

my paediatrician only let my DD have 5 to 15 mL of diluted prune juice (i.e half with prune and half with water to a final of 5 to 15 mL at two months), even then he said two months is too early for prune juice, that's why the amount is limited. Might wanna double check to make sure about juices since your baby is so young (3 weeks?)............ I thought 2oz of pure pear is alot.........

Well, I was mixing just 1 oz of the pear juice w/1 oz water and she gulped that down like it was nothin... our nurse suggested it for constipation. I was also wondering about her age and doing juices this early but I guess its okay. I'll recheck on amount w/the Dr. at her 1 month appt. next week. :)
