As far as I know my baby is engaged (don't know how much, will find out again on Wednesday), but now it snaps down there when I move in bed from the one side to the other. Yesterday it was so bad that bubs kicked me very hard like she had a freight - she was sleeping. It sometimes hurt and is very uncomfortable.

Anyone else have this and know if this is the normal part of the last weeks?

Thanks.

I'm not as far along as you but I have severe spd and this happens every time I move. In bed when switching sides, lifting a leg to pull trousers on, walking up the stairs. You name it, my pelvis clucks like a chicken whenever I move. Don't have any suggestions for stopping it cos I've tried loads of things, am even having physio but nothing helps. I just turn REALLY slowly in bed. Like snail speed. Keep my knees together and sort of shuffle my butt over lol.

Good luck. Not long left for you at least =]

+1 to everything LittleNugget said, I have SPD since 12 wks this time and my pelvis has been making my life a misery since then :(

I heard there is not much you can do about it except moving slow (as mentioned by you ladies) and maybe take a warm bath. No painkillers work as those that we are allowed to drink are not strong enough. Seems like we just need to hang in there then.... oh,boy.

sorry to jump in from 2nd tri but i have been searching this as i have the same problem "i called it clicky hip" but everytime i move from side to side in bed or stand up from sitting it clicks that loud it has woke my OH up. at the moment i wouldnt say its painful but it is uncomfortable.

is this SPD?
if no what is it and will it get worse the further on i get?

I have pain in my hips and groin area when I turn in bed as well. My Dr said it was normal for this stage and just that my pelvis muscles are relaxing in prep for the baby. It can really hurt!! But as you said there isnt anything you can really do about it- its just part of it!

The best thing you can do is always move with your knees closed, I find the cracking of my joints happens when I'm asleep and trying to turn over normally :( try to never stand on one leg, I can't even take my weight on one leg long enough to slip my foot into my flip-flops :0

I have this too, I hate turning in bed because of the horrible pain & clicking noise! I just try and keep my knees tucked up together and move over slowly which seems to help a bit! I have gotten to the point where I can't really walk very far now which is annoying as i'd love to get out & get things done!

:flower:

I agree, I try to turn over like a mermaid!

i have this ladies.. my hip bits on both side started to ache about 5weeks ago so i started bend my legs n openin them until they clicked and it feels better. and about 3 weeks ago it started clicking on its own when i turn from my side to the other side and sometimes its really loud and hurts a bit x

I've had real stiffness in my pelvic area when i turn over at night for weeks, but the past week i've had bad pain and clicking. I went to argos & bought a v-pillow, i now sleep on my back with my v-pillow behind me & sat up a bit with another pillow between my legs & i now wake up the morning without a bit of stiffness, pain or clicking x
