My MD gave me Provera for 10 days bring-on my period (I'm currently on cycle day 91). I finished the 10 days last Saturday and began spotting this week on Wednesday, 4 days after I finished the Provera. The spotting was dark brown, never any red, with light cramping. Today it's practically stopped! Was that my period?? Does anybody have any experiences like this or any advice? I was really expecting a heavy period since it's been so long since I've had one and am worried (and a litle disappointed, as silly as that sounds).

Does anybody have any advice?? I'm starting to worry that something is seriously wrong with me :sad1:

I really don't know. When I last took Prover it was for 5 days and I got my period 2 days after the last pill. I don't recall it being abnormally heavy or anything. I'm starting my next dose of provera tonight (still 5 days) and hope it works.

I would really call your doctor and let her know. It's possible that the amount given wasn't enough

I just took my last pill of Provera today. I am hoping to get my AF soon so I can start this cycle going.

Have you guys CM change at all while taking Provera?

From what I remember, I didn't have much CM while on Provera. But to be honest, I started the Provera the day I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was pretty devastated by the diagnosis, so I stopped temping and charting symptoms for a few days.

That's why I'm freaking out about just spotting and not getting a full-blown period. I want everything to be right so we have the best shot at a BFP!

It can take up to 2 weeks for you to get your period once stopping the provera so you still might get one. I took provera last cycle and 2 days into the course i started bleeding so everyone is different.

danni2kids- I see you were diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. How were you diagnosed with that and what exactly does that mean? I was reading online that failing a progesterone challenge can mean you have premature ovarian failure and I'm trying to find out more about it.

I took Provera from Aug 19-29th, on Sept 5th I had the light bleeding as you described. Since then I have had many episodes of bleeding, none of which seemed to be a period until this last time on Sept 29th. The explanation I got from doctors is it may take awhile for my hormones to regulate. Sorry if this doesn't help much, but I am unsure if you could consider this your period.

Hi Catty, I have poor ovarian reserve due to having chemotherapy when i was 15. I have had a AMH test which was 0.3, a day 3 BT to check my FSH which is now 5 and also a pelvic ultrasound to check my follicle count. So my diagnoses is a litle different to someone else who might have POF.

Ive taken 7 days of provera 3 weeks ago but nothing has happened. My doc did say that spotting or a very heavy period would be normal.
