Periods after c section

I had a cs 6 weeks tomorrow,I've had bleeding which to b expected and then it started to stop and towards end was like brown in colour or nothing on pad at all.Anywy today I have blood like its a period,but how long does it take for periods to come back,and how do u know if period or still bleeding from op!

Everyone is different. I bleed for ages after my c section and eventually the blood from the c section turned a kind of brown colour. Then i had a no bleeding at all for about 2 weeks then started bleeding bright red blood which was my period. For me it took about 3 months for my period to come back. You will know when the bleeding is period blood - dont really know how to describe i just knew that it was my period. Hopefully you wont have to wait as long as i did!

I'm expressing twice a day and rest of time formula feed,this defo seems like my period now

With my first I wasn't able to breastfeed. I had bleeding until 5 weeks, 1 week off then got my first period at 7 weeks.... So it's very likely this could be yours. Keep track of it and see if it returns same time next month.

I am coming up to 4weeks post c/s and still have bleeding on and off varying from red to brown so hopefully it settles down and af returns like normal. I am breast feeding though so not sure what my body is doing.

Hopefully it's your af and everything is going back to normal for you.
