Perrin is a family name... and only people in our family seem to have it lol to me it sounds completely normal nothing unusual because I've been bought up saying it. Was thinking of calling our little one it if it's a boy.

Can be pronounced perron. I think maybe I prefer the pronunciation perron.

It's french for peter.

To me it sounds regular everyday but I wouldn't wanna call my baby it thinking it was gonna be a reason to tease him at school. Opinions please ☺

I know this name as a surname as I have a few friends with it - so while it doesn't sound unusual to me, it doesn't quite sound like a christian name. That being said, there are lots of names like that, so if you like it, go for it!

Thanks for the opinion. We've named both our boys names and middle names after family. Perrin is the only one we haven't used yet. All the perrins I know have the nickname "per" (pear) that I think is kinda cute. Lol probably made it sound weirder! 😅

I know of a few people with the last name Perron so it does feel like a surname to me, but there are lots of surnames that are used as first names now, so it doesn't strike me as being terribly odd.

Per and Perri are both cute nicknames. I say go for it, especially since it's a meaningful name for you.

I quite like it, though I tend to like slightly different names!

I know someone (she's Canadian) with a DS named Perrin, it was her maiden name which is why they chose it. I really like it :).
