I was hoping some more experienced BFing moms could help me diagnose this...

My EBFed 6 week old has consistently green, mucus-y poop. Does this look more like a fore/hindmilk imbalance or a dairy allergy? I'm thinking it's one or the other with his symptoms.

What other symptoms are we talking as on it's own that poo doesn't look abnormal or even that green (though that could be your camera or my phone screen). Foremilk/hindmilk imbalance would make the stool very green like grass green or even greener than that xx

Summer Rain: Thanks for replying! Other symptoms include: coughing/slight gagging during nursing, gassiness/belching, forceful spit up after every feeding, red irritation around anus, slow weight gain, congestion (baby struggles to clear throat all night while sleeping), and many frequent explosive green BM's

I should add that sometimes the poop looks like pieces of steamed spinach, drier and more fibrous than the picture I posted.

Because of his slow growth in the beginning, I'm a little afraid to mess with block feeding if that's not what it is.
