Has anyone experienced pinkish discharge around 4/5 weeks gestation? I had literally a pink spot last night and today I have had pinkish discharge although it is not flowing - no need to wear a pad but i still am to monitor. I see it when I wipe only, but after wiping, there is nothing there. This has continued through the day. I am really panicking incase this means a pending m/c....please can someone respond.. I am feeling extra ordinarily depressed ladies...need your support big time!

same thing happend to me around 4 weeks has it stopped now?
xx

Some women still get a bit of pinkish discharge around the time their period is due. Keep an eye on it. Are you having any sort of cramping or in pain?

No it hasn't. I am really panicking Sarah. There is no flow and it is not like a period. What happened to you?

I was getting cramping pain last night and i have had it on and off today.

Spotting is super common in early pregnancy hon. As long as you're not cramping severly and its not getting heavy and red then things should be ok. I spotted almost every day for a full month with this pregnancy but everything turned out fine. Try not to worry too much hon, but I know thats very hard to do. You could always go to the hospital and get it checked out but since its so early, even if they did an U/S they might not see anything. I hope everything is ok hon :hugs:

mine was like what you was describing i was so worried so i went GP they booked me in for a scan the next day i went for my scan everything was fine :) xxx

How far gone were you when they scanned you? I just cannot stop crying...i am trying to calm myself down, but i am just super panicking:cry:

4 weeks then i had another scan 2 weeks later to see if everything was still fine and i saw my babys heart beat :)

I had a pinkinsh tinge on the tissue when I wiped from week 4 to almost week 6. It's completely normal. Since it is not red and no clots you are probably just experiencing some spotting...completely normal, especially early in pregnancy. If you are really concerned about it you might call your doctor or local hospital and they can reassure you. All of this worry and stress isn't good for you or the baby :hugs:

Edit: Forgot to mention that I also had cramping pain during the same time period, my doctor told me to be concerned only if the pain got extremely bad or if I started seeing clots.

:hugs:

Aww hon, I really wish I could give you a hug right now. I've had a miscarriage before and at first I started to bleed a tiny bit, then it got heavier and progressively heavier after that. The cramps didn't start until I had been bleeding for a full day and it was a heavy period flow. The cramping you felt was probably stretching pains, as they probably didn't hurt that bad right? and since its only when you wipe and theres no need for a pad then thats a good sign. Also, it could be IB bleeding since its around the time you get your period and thats happened to me with two of my pregnancies. Only thing I can suggest is to go lay down hon, put your feet up. Hopefully the spotting will go away soon :hugs:

Thankyou to everyone who has responded....I will try to relax and put away the tissues.. What if it turns into a flow? Cramps are like a stabbing pain but only lasts a few seconds.

If the discharge gets heavier (flow or clot like) than I would recommend going to see your doctor. I really hope they don't though and you are just experiencing normal spotting :hugs:

When I was around 5 weeks I was getting some intense pain in my uterus and my doctor reassured me it was only because it was preparing itself for the baby. You'll notice throughout your entire pregnancy that you will cramp from time-to-time from stretching and also round-ligament pain.

Don't stress too much over it, you'll only work yourself up and your LO can sense stress as well. Take a warm bath or just have a nice lay-down.

I really wouldn't worry all too much unless it becomes quite red and the cramps become too much to handle. So far, sounds as though it really is just spotting which is 100% normal! :) :hugs:

Thankyou Vickie, Sarah, Jenny and Goldlion for your comments....i will actually try and relax and update you later.

According to the books I'm reading (or more accurate, DH is reading since I'm too tired and fall asleep before the book is even open), it is not uncommon to spot, especially around this time. It could be implantation bleeding...you're at around the right time for it. In a couple weeks, you can also get a second round of implantation bleeding, when the placenta begins to implant itself...perfectly normal :) The Mayo Clinic Guide to Healthy Pregnancy (which I think I've mentioned several times on this forum) is a great book. It has tables of different symptoms you might experience and then lets you know if it's something you should be worried about, and when/if you should call a doctor. Looking at that has put my mind to rest many times!

I think if it were me, I would just monitor it, and realize that unless it either gets much heavier or is accompanied by serious cramping, you're probably ok.
