It is like a giant scrap book you can stroll round the internet looking at pretty stuff and anything that takes your eye you can pin to your board. It is great for recipe ideas, places to visit, clothes and bags you can never afford, make up styles etc if you can imagine it someone will have it pinned. You can also spend hours browsing other peoples boards looking for inspiration etc. I love it but be warned once you have worked it out it is very addictive.

It's great for if you're planning something like a wedding or a party. You can look for inspiration and pin everything on the same board. It's like having an online ideas book.

You can pin from pretty much any website too so if you see an idea you like while you're browsing the internet you can pin it on Pinterest and go back to it later.

See stuff you like, pin to boards. Look at boards when you want eyes to have orgasms or nice things or indeed pin useful ideas and just about anything on line you want. get addicted. Want everything you ever pinned to be in your home. Live in fantasy land. Well thats what I see it as and I have near 13000 pins.

I use it a lot for DIY inspiration for crafts and organizing. They have a TON of good ideas for kids crafts. If you click on a picture, it will usually take you to the website/blog/etc. That the picture came from.

Thanks ladies, so the main reason I've joined is because I do a lot of paper crafts, card making etc and I wanted to look for inspiration but also want to share my stuff so can I take photos of my own crafts and add them to my pin board or can I only add stuff from other websites?

It is very addictive, I also end up pinning everything and everytime i go on there pin more stuff but dont have time to look at my pins as its too addicting looking at the new pins ahhh!!!

Ok for confused people.

Note how there is so many of them and when you click on them according to the title of the board they will be filled with whats described on board title. I have eben got some of my own photography pinned in there from flickr.

I have a lot of boards. When you want to pin an image on interest you like you will be asked where you want that image to go to, which board. You can create a board which makes it much tidier and easy to find again especially if its ideas of recipes you like pinning.

for hard core pinners like myself I have a pin button on my browser which allows me to pin things I see elsewhere on-line to boards like a bookmark section. Its good for keeping sites in you want to go back in, I have home school things saved there also which is a great place for resources. Basically its like your visual personality as well, things you like to look at and that please you or you will make use of. Even my dad has a pinterest account and likes pinning.
