OK. Last Monday I had an ultrasound at my OB office, and my cervix had gone from 3.7 cm three weeks earlier to 2.6 cm. Three weeks before the 3.7 cm measurement it was measuring 4.5 cm. I've been on bed rest since then and continued my 17P injections. I had my first appt with the peri today, and they measured my cervix again. It looks like the shots and bed rest are helping as my cervix measured over 3 cm today, but now there's funneling which wasn't there last week. The mucous plug is still intact, and the funnel isn't horrible, but it's starting. The peri didn't have much to say about it other than he's not sure what it means at this point or what it will do from here, but he thinks the bed rest and injections will keep it under control for now. When I was pregnant with my daughter funneling was noticed at 27 weeks, but at that point my cervix measured 1.3 cm and funneled to 0.7 cm. My cervix is currently at a good length, but is funneling - what does that mean? I know the funneling can be a problem, but since my cervix isn't bad does it matter? What does the funneling really mean? I just hear a lot about it being a bad thing, but I don't know if it's still a concern with a cervix measuring over 3 cm now.
Also, for those on the 17P injections, do you still have contractions even with them? If so, how often? I've been feeling them for the last several weeks, but they're not too often so I'm not concerned. It just makes me wonder how bad it could get later.
