I am 7 weeks pregnant and I am bleeding. Started this morning as brown streaking, now its changed to red and looks like normal blood. Not heavy yet tho. I am having some back ache on and off and some mildish cramps.

Lots of people have told me that this might be nothing, but I am not daft and I am guessing that it is. We also have a possible genetic issue that we wouldnt be able to test for until I was further along, but of course if it was that my body could very easily recognise early on that the chromosones arent right and be getting rid.

The thing is, I have a scan booked for tomorrow anyway, but I just need some advice.

What is the best way to go ahead with this. Wait to miscarry naturally or have a D&C or something?

My last loss was a 23 weeks and I had to deliver although the baby had already passed. After that you would think I would be able to handle anything, but I'm scared of how much a natural mc will hurt...I just want this over with

Thanks

Not sure what to suggest, can you maybe phone nhs direct? Are you having any pains?

Oh, I am so sorry.

My advice would be to try to think positive!

If you are indeed having a MC, then here is my story:
I have had two MC in the past two months...both of them natural. The first one was more painful then my last one, but still nothing unbearable. From what I have heard, if the MC is natural and early enough, a D&C isn't always necessary. I had some pretty bad cramps, a headache and backache, but once the bleeding started heavily, most of the symptoms were either gone or tapered back.

Don't be scared, just take care of yourself right now.

I had a miscarriage and opted for the d&c.
The procedure itself was honestly not that bad- they gave me gas, I fell asleep and woke up 1/2 hour later.
I know that both have their pros and cons, but the d&c was the right option for me.
I'm so sorry that you are even in this position. Big hugs your way.

aw i am so sorry to hear that... but try to be positive some women can still bleed when pregnant and everything can still be fine.

If the worst comes to worst.. every woman is different. I had a d&c 4 weeks ago as i was scared also to let it happen naturally. Being really honest the procedure takes 30 minutes (if all goes to plan) and then youre awake and home the same day. I had bleeding afterwards for about a week but hardly any cramps though they say theyre to be expected. But some women prefer to let it happen naturally. Touch wood it doesnt happen again but if it was to i would opt for the d&c again
