Im cooking gammon later and its 1.4 kg. I need to cook it 30 mins for every 500g plus 30 mins on top. Ive worked it out roughly but i want a precise calculation- anyone? xx

I think it works out about 1 hour 55mins

Isnt it a bit sacreligious cooking a gammon with a name like yours? :)

Im pretty sure it needs to be around 220 (200 at least if fan assisted)

If the temperature is too high it will cook too quickly on the outside and not in the centre.

Please don't think I am being a bitch, I'm a professional chef.

But if its cooked too low it will still be half cooked in the middle, sorry id never cook a gammon so low as that for that amount of time. Iv been working in kitchens for 15 years but not a profesional chef.

I boil mine first then roast it, I worry it'll be too dry just in the oven
