Hi there!

I would love some opinions from you gorgeous girls!

We have just found out we are having a little boy and I have always found it hard to settle on a boy's name, but here goes my efforts so far. Please bare in mind that I am Australian and DH is Italian and we currently live in Italy. SO, we would love a name that both families can pronounce! It doesn't have to be overly Italian because they quite like "Americano" names here too!lol

What do you think of these:

James or Jamie
Samuele or Sammy
Noah or Noe (Italian version)
Alex
Jesse
Oliver
Will
Remy

I would welcome any other suggestions too!! Thanks!!

growing up i knew an antonio,
angelo ( an-je-low) ,
gino ( jee-now)
marco ( mar-kow)
niko ( nee-kow)
I also like Raphael ( rafa-el)

Hahaha - I actually know someone with each of those names here! My DH is a Raffaele, although he prefers the English version of Ralphi! Thanks hun!

Soft G i spose as in G-ull , G-eli

Sorry i dnt really now how to xplain lol.

My son is called Luca, but I think it is quite common in Italy, so that might put you off? (It's getting more common here now too, no-one was called it when my son was born, he's 9 now)

You know I absolutely LOVE Luca... but for the very reason you said my DH doesn't want it... it is VERY widely used here. Thanks tho hun!

I went onto my italian friends Facebook page and had a gander through her friends list.. (I believe a modern update of a baby name book! lol)
And some names that stuck out for me..
Adriano - Easy to pronounce in all languages, cute nickname of Adi.
Matteo - (Love this one) Can be shortened to Matt/Mattie although she had four Matteo's in her friends list so i'm assuming it's quite popular?
Vincenzo - Like this one too, love the shortened version of Vinnie.
Rocco - Possibly my favourite

There were lots of Marco's, Luca's, Nico's etc. Good luck!

I really like alot of the names you have on your list: Oliver, Sam, Jamie, Jesse, Alex, & Noah! All really cute!

I LOVE Italian names! We are not from Italy but my mom is 100% Italian & my dad is 75% -- our last names are quite Italian too!

Here are some of my favorites!

Rocco
Nico
Dominick
Carlo
Anthony
Angelo
Luigi
Gianni
Giovanni
Savino (this was my uncle's name, but they called him Sammy)
Matteo
Lorenzo
Mario
Carmine
Mariano
Vincenzo

That was a cool idea! My fave in that list would have to be Matteo, but I had a crush on a Matt for about 5yrs when I was younger so I just can't do it! I already know a few Vincenzo's and Rocco's and you are so right about the popularity of Luca and Nico.... Thanks for your help!

I've always liked the name Dante.

I really like Oliver as a boys name.

Lucia / Luciano male version of my DD name :)

I love Noe!! It's such a handsome name!!

I love the name Francesco.

Thanks to you all!!
I quite like Dante as well!
I too think Noe is handsome... but DH has taken removed it from the list... boohoo!
We just know too many Francesco's and Luciano's but I thank you all the same!:flower:

I'm sure I posted this yesterday but I can't see it! Giacomo is my favourite italian name and you can call him Jack. x
