I'm 24 years old, healthy weight and in shape. I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 in a half years. I got pregnant once and it ended in miscarriage. I did have a D&C. Now almost 2 years away from that, and nothing. I finally got my OBGYN to send me to a reproductive specialist, he also prescribed me Clomid 100mg. I found out last month I am ovulating just fine. So today I went in for an HSG and guess what? THAT'S FINE TOO. What is going on? I do have irregular periods, so my doctor said I could be one of those people who don't ovulate all the time, but still have periods. DH got tested, but we won't get the results until next week. So I've been taking the Clomid since day 5, but now I'm a little scared of getting pregnant with twins or more. I'm okay with twins, but I would DIE if I had more. My doctor says the odds are incredibly low for any multiples at all, but what I'm reading online makes me not so sure. I mean, that's if I even get pregnant at all!! Nothing is working for me!!

I'm just looking for some reassurance, some sort of support. My husband and I haven't told anyone we are trying, and he doesn't want to talk about it all the time. Any information would be great, any stories.. anything.

My condolences for your M/C.

Ha, not me. Twins, triplets, quads, bring it on! I'll take whatever I can get.

You only have a 10% chance of having multiples while on Clomid..if twins run in your family that can also increase the odds a bit. The chance of conceiving triplets or more is much, much lower.

I wonder why he put you on Clomid already without having your husband's SA, and by the blood work and levels he should be able to tell if you ovulate every month just fine. Wait till you hear your DH's SA. My gyno said the infertility goes both ways, so you have a 50/50 chance of finding an issue with his sperm. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of the issue.

Espacey, Armywife is right, just wait for the SA, that might give you some answers. However, unfortunately lots of people are simply 'unexplained infertility' and that doesn't make it any easier, so don't be surprised if there is no eureka moment. I think the chances on clomid of multiples are quite low, but if you're really worried, don't take it and just lose a month, time is on your side. I hope things work out, but if they don't and you have to go on to IVF you can ask for SET - selective embryo transfer and then there is only the usual chance of twins (very low!)
This is a great place for support and lots of us find that our OH's don't want to talk about it all the time, so come to us instead!!!
