Ethan is on Aptamil.
He suffers with trapped wind.

The TT CTN anti colic bottles seem to help a little but not a lot, same with Infacol, Dentinox type of thing.

Was wondering if comfort milk would help with the trapped wind?

I know it's quite a big undertaking so could you share your experiences of using the comfort milk.

we looked into switching to the comfort milk for oliver... but when i actually looked into it i found it was actually the Aptamil making Oliver windy and sicky... so we switched to cow and gate and it has really helped him.

I dont know if you have tried different types of milk? Because the HV was also very reluctant to let me give Oliver the comfort milk.

xx

xpinkness87x how did you figure out it was the Aptamil? Lily is on that as I had read it was the closest to breast milk but she also suffers from trapped wind. She's only 18 days (and was born at 37 wks) so it could just be her immature digestive system as the HV says but I am not sure I want to wait until it matures for her to feel better!

Well my cousin had twins born at 36 weeks and they were having the same problems... she changed them to cow and gate and it started to help.
So when Oliver started to get trapped wind and was just generally uncomfy we switched to cow and gate to see if it helped... it has. The HV said alot of babies dont agree with Aptamil... i thought this was weird as you said it is the closest to breast milk!
But since changing Oliver has been like a different baby

i put fin on comfort for his colic and i thought it helped, well it did, but only cos SMA was awful for him, SMA is hard for babies to digest so if you have a colicky baby, SMA should not be seen! he was better on aptamil comfort, but a million times better on normal cow and gate...

If you do try the comfort you will need the size two teats as its a bit thick to come thru and babies get stressed out trying to feed... its all a matter of trial and error to find something that suits your baby...

Aptamil and cow and gate are the same company so im not sure that theres that much difference between them

That is one funky hair style Finley has! Mega cute.

Thanks for all your advise. I have ordered some Cow & Gate which the nice Asda man should hopefully deliver tomorrow (as long as snow is not too bad - who says it's summertime???) .

my LO was on SMA gold at first, but we had trouble with her wind, she wouldnt settle, and always seemed unhappy, my HV told me to try her on aptamil comfort and she was a different baby, she slept better, didnt have long crying spells, and since then i have never gone back. :)
i also use vari flow teats as the milk is quite thick so will be hard to suck from a slow flow x

Michael is still constipated, despite changing to 'comfort' over a week ago :-( his wind is coming up easier though, although for us, wind wasn't the issue.

We started using SMA gold but very soon Oliver started to suffer from trapped wind so we changed for aptamil comfort, actually it seems to be good with his colics, but he is sick often now.
