Please someone tell me how to make a microwave "baked" potato that doesn't go solid?

Lol, I have that same problem, especially doing them in the oven!

Ok, grab a baking potato, wash it and then pierce it with a skewer right the way thru randomly, i do about 6 pierces in mine.

Place on a plate and pop in the microwave.

Put it on a high heat setting for 10 mins.

After 5 mins, check it, roll it over to the other side, cook for the remaining time.

By then, its soft enough to eat, but i dont, i always stick it in the oven for 15mins on gas mark 9 so its gets a nice crispy skin.

Et voila....Enjoy :)

I promise that it will work...And if it doesnt ill personally send you them whenever you like as a sorry :haha:

it's even easier if you do them in the oven, just wrap them in tinfoil and put them in the oven on high.but in the microwave you definitely have to pierce them all over. I wrap them in some kitchen roll usually as well. always turned out nice.

I do mine in the micro for 10 mins then put some olive oil and salt on and pop in the oven for about 40 mins.

I just cut a giant X in a medium sized potato (the bigger ones are harder) and put it on for 8-10 mins :)

WOOOOO - I knew it would work :smug:

Phew, i dont need to provide baked potatoes on demand anymore :haha:

Posting them was gonna be a pain in the ass

I cheat and use the frozen ones most the time..
But we've got one of them microwaves that has a million settings for things to cook - just enter the weight and item your cooking can also use it as an oven.

It's really high power for a microwave though - 1000wx
