Pointless thread but YAY i fed in public today

As the title says totally pointless post but im so happy with myself
I fed Isobelle in public today
Its a big deal for me as i am very body consious being overweight but i did it and it felt great hope i can carry on building my confidence so i dont have to express everytime i want to go out shopping

Congrats! You should be proud; it's not easy to BF in public - people stare, and it's tough to relax and get comfy (for me anyway).

A lot of people in my area aren't supportive; I've gotten used to stares of disgust when I feed my son and I've had to set a few people straight ('as a matter of fact yes I CAN do this in public, and there's nothing wrong with it, so piss off!')

Some folks are the opposite though - once while I was asking a Wal-Mart employee if the store had a nursing area an older lady interrupted and said 'he's hungry, you just sit down and feed him any darn place you please!' It made me giggle, but it also made me think - you wouldn't really think twice about eating a snack in the middle of a store, a park, or an office hallway, but for some reason it's considered (by some) inappropriate for a baby to eat in public places just because their food comes from a breast. IMO every time one of us does what you did and BFs in public, we help break down the taboo a little more. Good for you!
