Pooing on Formula

Hi all,

My LO is almost 3 weeks old and is on SMA. She only poos about once every three days and is spectacular in the amount she produces. It is the colour it should be and is nice and soft. The only problem is that for about 6 hours before she poos she is a nightmare! Won't settle, terrible wind and grunts a lot. Any advice? We use colief and closer to nature bottles. The colief helps with burps but just worried aout the poo!

Hiya we had the same problem with jenna on sma use the same bottles as you aswell, As adviced by the health visitor we moved onto aptimal and since then jenna goes around 4 times a day! not so fulllike when she used to not go for days and shes alot less grumpy!! I have read that sma is sometimes the worst for constipation! But if you dont want to change her milk there are massages you can do to help im not sure about thesse tho as we never did them!

Ye my first baby was on SMA and did not agree with him at all, was sick all the time and struggled to poo - had to give him lots of extra water. Switched to Cow & Gate and it sorted him right out. Used c&G for the next two as well and it suited / suits them too.
