poor 1 year old constipated

just wondering if anyone could help. my DS is very constipated. i have tried giving him extra drinks and fruit like oranges but nothing seems to help shift it. he has got some laxative medicine from the dr which helps for a few days but when i stop giving it too him he is back to square one again

I had the same problem with sophie-louise when she was younger,
the doctor would have gave her children laxative which was great but once i stopped given her it she was constipated again, there was nothing else they would do for her and they stopped given her laxative after a while because they were scared of her bowels getting lazy.

Have you tried sugar and water that helps as well?
It is terrible to see them in so much pain i hated it. xxxx
