:nope:

poor poor baby :(

and poor mummy, god knows what she must be going though to have felt this was her only option :(

i know when i read it i didnt know if to feel sorry for the mum or think bad of her. iykwim x

This is really awful =( when I read things like that I have to give liam such a big cuddle. I suppose the best thing would be that they find out the baby was indeed stillborn. Still really awful & unthinkable but I can't bear to think that a mother would be able to abandon her living baby like that.

aww poor baby, i feel so sorry for woman who feel they cant turn to anyone and have no choice but abandon their children

 poor little mite

R.I.P little one xxx

awww really sad. god bless little baby xxxxx

I do feel for the Mum and the poor baby, but if the baby was indeed stillborn, leaving him in a garden was uncalled for.

If he/she was stillborn then she wouldnt be in any trouble as the PM will tell them this.

I know the Mum probably wont know this but still, leaving he/she in a garden is just shocking.

So sad the poor baby, if the baby was stillborn it makes it no better leaving the poor mite it is still a baby and should be treated with love and respect. The mother must be in such a mess emotionally to even begin to think about abandoning a child let alone do it i hope they find out who she is so she can get help.

Please don't think that I'm saying it would be ok if the baby was stillborn & abandoned, I think that is really horrible, I just meant that it would be slightly better than if the baby was alive when abandoned & had to suffer through god knows what - starvation, cold etc..
This is coming across wrong but please don't think that I would condone it.

Also I can't believe she wouldn't be in any trouble if the baby was stillborn? That's terrible. I thought if a baby was born after 24 weeks & was stillborn or died shortly after death then the birth had to be registered & then the death registered? Surely you can't legally just abandon a stillborn baby..? If you can then there's something seriously wrong with this country. If I died tomorrow & my OH just dumped me in next doors garden then surely he'd get into trouble for that!
Not trying to be argumentative just am really shocked if that is the case.

Also just thought.. The article said the baby was upto a week old, so surely not stillborn..

She wouldnt be in any trouble, a stillborn baby isnt the Mums fault.

The death does have to be registered but she cant get into trouble for the baby being stillborn.

She may be charged with the concealment of a birth but not for leaving her baby in a garden.

If your OH dumped you in your neighbours garden after you had passed away, of course he would get into trouble for not organising a proper burial.

No of course I know it wouldn't be her fault if the baby was stillborn I just thought she would get into trouble for leaving it in a garden. I was just saying it would essentially be no different to if my OH did that & he would get into trouble so why should anyone be able to leave a baby in a garden just because it was stillborn? I'm assuming this would change if the baby was alive for a few hours?

does the article mean tht baby was a week old? or it had been in the garden a week?

I wouldn't go picking apart the article, they aren't gonna have all the facts just as the hospital & police don't have them, only time will tell on that one

I do really feel for the woman, to be in a place where you feel you have no other choice must be awful and very lonely, we don't know if she was a young girl and scared, or if she was raped and too scared to tell anyone, a part of a culture that doesn't allow sex before marriage but ended up pregnant and scared ...... Like I said we don't know and until we do I would rather show compassion to her, rather than sit here and make out she was vindictive, I find it hard to believe someone who didn't have some seriously issues/very very scared could do this
