Poor service in shop :(

My husband and I live in a rural location and neither of us drive so when we want to go to any big stores and shops we need to take a 36 mile journey on a bus that takes an hour and 20 mins!
Well.....we were in town about 3 weeks ago and noticed that there was a Pandora shop that had just opened on that day so we took a look inside....I already had a silver bracelet and was just looking at the charms. I fell in love with the bee charm that they do with the crown on and we asked how much it was, we were told £35.00 ......anyway my husband has gone into town today christmas shopping and decided he was going to get it for me, he went into Pandora and the assistant serving him let him have a look, he again asked the price and was told £35.00, my husband said 'ill take that then please'....the assistant took it over to the till and then disappeared, my husband presumed she may have gone to lunch? anyway the lady started wrapping it up and my husband came out of the shop and stood near the doorway and phoned me to double check I wanted it (i said yes as I didnt know he was getting it) he then went back into the store and the new lady serving him said thats £45.00 please, my husband said 'oh, I was just told £35.00? anyway she said it was £45.00 and that was that........my husband had absolutely no extra money and had no choice but to leave it wrapped at the store. :growlmad:. He then phoned me back and was upset that he now cant get it.....Ive since checked on the website and it is £45.00. I phoned head office who couldnt help they gave us the stores number which I phoned....the reply I got was yes they had made a mistake in the price quoted, but there is nothing they can do and if my husband goes back he can pay £45.00 for it. I feel they should have honoured it at the £35.00 price as my husband made a long journey and the bus fare to go up there and after being told £35.00 today and them wrapping it! to be told it was a mistake at the checkout :huh:
 
Sorry you had a horrible trip :(

Nothing worse than poor service in shop- I've worked in retail and always made a real effort with customers.

I would be livid too! They can't just go make up prices willy nilly!

If it was me I would never go back to that shop again and take my custom elsewhere! xxx
 
I would be furious thats terrible even worse that he made such a long trip to get it :( x
 
It would have helped if we had looked online on their site, but he had to go into town for another present anyway, but its beside the point.
 
they used the excuse that they were new had only been open 3 weeks, but to tell you a price wrap it then 'oh we've made a mistake!'

That's awful i agree they should have honored it as it was their mistake
 
That's really poor customer service. Just yesterday we had a customer ring saying we had charged them more than they were quoted. They forward me the quote and it had been a typo - had been told $515 when she should have been $551 and we honoured it. It's our mistake, so we just have to suck it up and take it. If we ever want the customer to come back, you just have to.
Can you buy that charm online at all??
 
Ive bid on one on ebay........the same bead just thats its not new, which im not bothered about really
 
If its been open 3 weeks or 3 hours their staff should be trained enough to know how to do their job properly. Especially with such a big brand!
 
I'd have dome my nut too, I would also have assured them that I would be telling everyone I knew of my experience of the poor service I got from that shop.
