This cycle i had: hsg that confirmed my left tube is blocked at the uterus and the right is open. I also got a very positive opk and a clear thermal shift. My 8dpo labs indicate i did not ovulate with a level of 2.8. How is it possible not to ovulate with an lh surge and bbt shift? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi alleysm, I wish I had an answer for you! I don't know enough about this. But to clarify -- was it your LH that was 2.8? Does your OPK test LH or something else?

Opk just detects lh surge and i had a clear positive on cd14. Thermal shift on cd16 indicating ovulation on cd15. I went in for labs 8dpo for a progesterone level check and my progesterone was 2.8 . So either i really didnt ovulate or i tried to ovulate but my ovary didnt release the egg .. so crazy!

Or, you ovulated but just have low progesterone after the fact? All those CD14-16 facts suggest you did ovulate, but maybe by 8dpo the progesterone had gotten low already (luteal phase deficiency?) Other relevant questions: Do you now what your progesterone was prior to ovulation? Is your temp still high? Have you been spotting at all?

Will you see a specialist soon to go over these results?

Gosh, these hormones are so complicated, no? :)

Today is cd1 so af is right on time. I do have a short luteal phase usually 10 -11 days. My obgyn will be doing cd3 labs so i will know more Tuesday, hopefully...

Let us know how it goes with the CD 3 labs. Hope something works out for you soon!
