Possible ovulation spotting?

Hello all! I am facing a situation in which i could really use some opinions or input.

My cycles are on the long side (35-45days). I started taking vitex this cycle and can feel more of a progression in my CM. Around CD14, I felt my body gearing up for O (hormone flux, almost positive OPK, watery CM) and then I got very sick and was put on antibiotics for a week. On Saturday (CD24) I started noticing some spotting, and suspected ovulation spotting. Sunday I had a bit more spotting and could see that there was a lot of EWCM mixed in with the spotting (which was on the bright red side) so we BDd on CD 24,25,27. Yesterday was CD 27 and I started feeling a strong twinge on my right side of the pelvic area (ovary?). This morning, CD28, I had a temp shift of .5 (the biggest I've had this cycle and it is also the first time it goes well above my cover line).

My question is can the spotting really be associated with ovulation even if I spotted for 4 days? I still have a very small amount of spotting today, but my CM is more on the tacky/dry side.

I've read that ovulation spotting lasts for 1-3 days but is very light. It's possible that you could fall into that since you're right on the edge of that timeline. Baby dust!
