Hello everyone :)

I havent been posting in here much :( lol started a new job and I've been busy lol!

Just wanted to ask a few things really, I went to the docs because we'd been ttc 18 months etc, he referred me for bloods and an internal scan to see if I had Pcos. I went back in today for the results and my doctor is on holiday so saw the other doctor there. He said my ovaries had several small cysts etc but my blood tests were ok :S so he's not sure its Pcos. So he's sending me to a gynaecologist for confirmation. Is that normal? Has anyone else had cysts but bloods showed they didnt have pcos??

Oh also wanted to say I haven't ever had regular periods but I was told to induce a period last month by my old gp using norethistorine and then not do it again by my new gp. Usually I go months 4/5 months without a period. But today I got my period, I hadnt taken norethistorine and its exactly 30 days from my last period. :S Does it sound like my period is finally regulating itself??

He's also making an appointment for DH to have a SA. So what happens after all this is done? Is it clomid then IUI then Ivf?

thanks girls :) xxxx

My tests came back negative for PCOS but when doing the IUIs i had PCO show up on my scans.

Hey u!!!! nice to see u around again!!!

Good to see your periods might be getting regular !!! not too sure on PCOS chick, sorry!

xx

PCOS is a varied syndrome that never strikes two women the same. With cysts on your ovaries, there is a chance you may have PCO but not PCOS.

thanks girls :) didnt realise there was a syndrome called pco I'm off to google it lol. Good old google :)
My Gp didnt even mention pco I'll see what the gynaecologist says.

heelllo hays!! nice to see you again to! lol xxxx

Hi ya

I was exactly the same as you I hadn't had a period for over a year and when I did it was only for 1day.

I had my internal scan and i had 19cysts on my right ovary and 26cysts on my left but when I had bloods they said my testosterone was normal.

When I went to gynaecologist they asked if my hair had got thicker or grew quicker and was there more of it and my answer was yes so as I had a 2 out of 3 criteria I was diagnosed with PCOS.

I was put on provera which I had to take 3 times a day for 5 days then once I had my period which was just over a week and a half later then on day 2-6 I had to take clomid.

On day 21 I have to get my blood tested to see if I have ovulated, if my period doesn't come on day 28 I have to take a preg test if:bfn:then wait til day 35 to see if period comes if not take another test and if that is also :bfn: I have to retake the provera etc.

I have been told by quite a few people that people who have taken clomid have got preg on first tries and second tries!! I hope it works for me!!!

I hope my advice abov helps!!

:hug:and BABY DUST

thanks wishing4abump :) yeh although my blood tests came back normal I still have alot of symptoms and i thought thats how the diagnosed it on the blood tests and symptoms. Also my mother and sister has it.

Hopefully the gynae will diagnose me and I can get some treatment! Thanks for telling me your story :) hopefully you'll get that baby bump soon! xxxx

I was on this website lastnight and came across the symptoms. I have almost all of the symptoms except one I think. I am also in my early 20's which it says "Symptoms of PCOS typically begin in women in their late teens or early 20's." My mom told me that PCOS runs in my family so I mentioned it to my doctor and he is sending me for an ultrasound and stuff...after looking at that site I wonder if this could be my problem...At least then it will explain it and I can get help for it.

Hopefully you will get diagnosed and can start treatment right away!! Just be persistent!! Sending you loads of babydust  xx
