Hi ladies, I'm popping over from first trimester. (I hope you don't mind)
Sunday night DH and I dtd and I had some pink/red blood only when I wiped then went to bed. Monday morning I had a horrible stomach ache like trapped gas. Finally went #2 and noticed when I wiped in the front there was more pink/red. Later that morning had an internal scan and when they pulled the wand out there was brown blood. I continued to have brown spotting that day and all the next day. I noticed that there seemed to be pieces of tissue mixed with the spotting and it was a little heavier than spotting. I had to wear a pantyliner.

This morning I woke up crossing my fingers no more spotting. Uh, no. I went #2 again and bright red blood. Tiny little clots throughout the morning when I wiped. Went in for another scan knowing for sure I was miscarrying. Ultrasound showed a heartbeat and baby did grow 2 days! I was so emotional and shocked I just cried. The scan did show a black area under the gestational sac where the bleed is. The technician said it is a big blood clot. I researched of course and am thinking maybe subchorionic hematoma.?

I just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this. Please share your' stories, good or bad. The technician did say that it could go either way. He just said no sex, no heavy lifting. I'm doing my best seeing how I have a 23 pound 18 month old. :)

I had a subchorionic hematoma picked up on my 7 week ultrasound, but never any bleeding. The hematoma did look like a big black area on the screen. At my 10 week ultrasound, it appeared to be gone and already re-absorbed. I had them check again at my 18 week scan and no sign of it.

When they first found the hematoma, my doctor had warned me I may bleed a little and not to freak out, but to go to the ER if it was a large amount of blood or if I was cramping. Thankfully, neither happened. I was advised to avoid sex, strenuous exercise, etc. I was also told that they are very common and your chances are best if it's small, heals early and you have minimal to no bleeding.

I wish you the best! Hopefully, the bleeding is over and baby is just fine.

Hi,

Hope your doing ok honey. It's a stressful thing to go through :flower:

I had a sch diagnosed at 12 weeks. I bled heavily for 7 weeks daily (the last week or so if which it went from bright red to brown blood)

Mine was large too (7cm at it's biggest) and I was on bed rest a month. It eventually cleared away at my 20 week scan :)

It's a tough thing to go through, but the odds are really in your favour with these things. But you really must rest up, drink plenty, stay on pelvic rest and do no heavy lifting. I ended up back in hospital after the first big gush as I didn't rest properly, so I know it helps.

It really hard, but don't lift your toddler honey :-( I haven't lifted my 2 year old since it happened. The day I started to bleed I carried her on a walk-could be coincidence, but I don't think it helped.

There's a great support board over on pregnancy groups for SCH support by the way.

I recommend you check it out :hugs:

Thank you so much Yo-Yo. Happy all is well with you.

I currently have one now... As far as I know.

At my 11 week scan they saw bleeding however I have not noticed any bleeding. Then the spot was about 3cm.. Went for another ultrasound at 14 weeks and it shrunk to 2cm. I have my 20 week scan on July 7th so really hoping it's gotten better.

Try not to worry so much. Some people get a lot of bleeding and everything turns out fine. More than likely it'll absorb and eventually go away :) You're doctor will really be able to help you out. I've been advised to not lift anything so maybe take it easy until you see your doctor next :)

I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma at 6 weeks when I went to the hospital for some bleeding, I was sure I was miscarrying but there was a baby with a strong heartbeat in there! Then at 11 weeks I had some spotting, went to ER and the SCH was still there but now I am almost 26 weeks and I haven't had any bleeding or spotting since 11 weeks.

I started bleeding (red blood), at 8 weeks. I thought it was all over. Baby was fine. I was asked to lay in bed for the entire weekend so that it could heal or at least not get worse. I too was told it could go either way.

Since then I've been bleeding on and off. I bled yesterday and infact had a visit with the doctor this morning to check it out. I'm 17 weeks now.

As long as you are not cramping and don't have a lot of bright red blood (where you have to change pads), you should be okay. Make sure to put your feet up as much as possible, don't lift anything heavy and just let your body heal. Good luck!

So sorry you are going through this. I had brown bleeding at 8 weeks and was utterly distraught thinking it was the end. But, at the scan we saw a beautiful strong heartbeat and a sch which explained it. I had brown on and off then a gush of red a few days later. Mad dash to the hospital again and again a beautiful strong heartbeat. I had a few more brown bleeds, minor after that and by my 12 week scan i hadn't had anything for a couple of weeks and the sch was gone.
It is utterly terrifying and such a worry, I know. Take it easy as much as poss which I know is hard (4yr old and 2yr old) here. Pelvic rest is a must too imo. It can work out. I'm 20+1 now and having my scan next week so fingers crossed for everything being ok then too.
xx

Thank you for all the encouragement and hope. Im still spotting 5 days later so we will see what the scan shows on June 25.
