Hi All,

I had a nuchal ultrasound done last Friday (July 31) at 14 weeks, I was measuring 14+4 with a Heart rate of 142.

Because I was measuring ahead they could not get an accurate measurement, my doctor assured me because of my age and family history chromosomal abnormalities were unlikely. (I am 26)

I had my follow up appointment with him last night and he said that the Radiologist is concerned with the veins in the babies neck as they are extremely large and should not be that big this far along, I have to have a repeat U/S on August 11th to see if the veins have shrunk. My Dr. & Radiologist said this is a sign of Turner's Syndrome.

Has anyone ever had this happen or have experience with a Turner Syndrome Pregnancy. I have read that if they find it in fetal development there is only a 5% chance of having a successful pregnancy. I am trying my best to stay positive however I am terrified to lose this baby.

:hugs: Hun I 🙏🏻 all is fine & at the next scan it was just the angle or an illusion from the fluid. All the best x

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs: I am sorry you are having to go thru this uncertainty right now!!! I don't have any experience with this but I hope and pray that your next ultrasound will show normal size veins and everything will be perfectly normal!

Oh dear. That's worrisome. Sorry I don't have any experience with TS, but hopefully they find that nothing's wrong at your next scan. At least they are being proactive about scanning you again. Good luck!! *fingers crossed*

Hello, I dont have experience or Knowledge of this but wanted to wish you luck and send you hugs for next scan xx

Thank you ladies, your words mean a lot to me.

My Dr. called yesterday and they have scheduled a repeat ultrasound for Tuesday Morning, and I probably won't get the results back from my doctor until Friday or the following week, but on the plus side we get to see our sweet little baby again!

No experience of TS, but just wanted to wish you the best and hope you get some good news from your next scan :hugs: x

Stay positive n good luck for ur next scan :hugs:

Hope everything is ok and you get some good news at your next scan :hugs:

Thanks Ladies, I had my scan yesterday baby was very active and heart rate was 150. Our Radiologists don't tell us anything we have to wait for them to send a report to a doctor/midwife... so I will hopefully have an update by Friday or early next week.

Fingers crossed for positive news for u when u get your update xxx

Hopeful, I'm just now seeing this and am very sad to see you're going through this worry. I am praying everything is OK. My thoughts are with you girl. :hugs:

Keeping you in my thoughts. I'm really sorry you're going through this. :hugs: I really hope everything turns out to be just fine and that it was just a weird scan last time. <3

Just got back from my short notice doctors appointment. My blood work came back normal and very low risk for chromosomal abnormalities, but that doesn't include Turners. The Second ultra sound still showed a swollen neck, so now we wait to get an appointment from a specialist.

I am keeping positive that the baby is growing at a good rate and ahead, and the heart rate has been good.

Thanks again for all your support

Hopeful, do they have any ideas about what else could cause a swollen neck?

They haven't told me anything at this time, because it is a marker for Turner's.

They said that it is common before 12 weeks but then goes away by then. So for it to appear at 14+4 & 16+1 is troubling.

He said because my blood work came back normal it could be a "normal" finding that just needs to be monitored or it could be a marker for chromosome issues.

I find the information very conflicting and I just want a straight answer! lol

I hope all will be okay for you! I'm sure there are other explanations for a swollen neck? No one should have to go through waiting like that :(
