post natal check after section

I have my six week check this week (my docs do them at eight weeks) will they do an internal? I know it is common practice after vaginal birth and i understand its to check the cervix postion but is it needed after a section too?? I laboured to 8cm dilated then had emcs.

With my first son I laboured to 6 cms and had an emcs and they didn't do an internal at my 6 week appointment

My first birth was vaginal and there was no internal at the 6wk appt.

It's highly unlikely you'll have an internal. I also dilated to 8cm before needing an emcs and I had no internal. All they did was had a chat about how I was feeling, took my weight and had a check of my tummy and scar.

I also just asked some questions that I had about recovery

My 6 week check post section basically consisted of the doctor asking how I was doing and the moving on to checking LO. really thorough lol

Thanks ladies i went yesterday he did my bp asked if i was ok 'down there' and that was it lol!
