DD started potty training on Saturday. No accidents yesterday and one today. I want to go out into town for a couple of hours.

Do I put her in pull ups? Or take a couple of changes of clothes and hope for best and visit every toilet we pass? Or just stay in a bit longer?

It's up to you which option you'd prefer. We went out on day 3 and I put my son in a pull up. He stayed dry and I put him back in the underwear when we got home. I know people who'll go with the other option, but I didn't want to have to deal with an accident that soon into the training because knowing my son it would set back the training.

For us, we just did it in the house for the first few weeks because every time I put trousers or tights on her, she had an accident. She was fine when it was just pants but anything on top of that was a disaster! Then on weekend we decided just to bite the bullet and take her out and she was fine. We took lots of spare pants and leggings and the potty with us but she had no accidents and didn't even need to use the potty. She's been fine every since. That was almost a month ago and she has still never had an accident. I would decide what you're happiest with - is she pretty good at telling you when she needs/going to her potty herself, or do you keep putting her on it every now and again? When we first took Sophie out, I constantly reminded her that she didn't have a nappy on and that she should say if she needed a wee - I must have been asking her every five minutes and I bet she was fed up with me :haha:

If you feel more confident with pullups, I would tell her that they are more like pants than a nappy and that she should still tell you if she needs a wee. Good luck whatever you decide x
