So I have like 900 dollars in gift cards to Target... I also have a 20 percent coupon but can only use it one time for the whole purchase. Initially I was saving the gift cards to purchase diapers as needed but the 20 percent off is pretty awesome... So I'm going to prepurchase some jumbo packs of diapers I'm purchasing Pampers Swaddlers cause i've gotten such great reviews. My question is How many cases of ea size should I buy? I already have a case of size 1 I was given at my shower. Ea case has about 200 diapers... I was thinking 1 more case of size ones, 3 cases of size two and 3 cases of size three... any thoughts?

:/ So confused lol

Honestly I would wait on that. Buy a couple newborn packs, save the giftcard for later. Babies all grow at different rates. One way or another you can't plan for how fast or slow their butts are gonna grow haha. I can almost assure you that you will be left with tons of diaps if you buy jumbo packs before you know the growth rate of the bubsy.

Hmm...you will need some newborn ones, I don't know how many. While reading your post I remembered that both of my kids were in size 3 for the longest amount of time.

Plan on 8-10 diapers a day. They grow out of size 1 pretty fast, so i wouldn't buy more than 2 weeks worth. They will be in size 2 & 3 a lot longer.

Beware that some babies react to certain brands. My youngest couldn't wear anything but Huggies. He'd get the most horrible rashes from pampers.

Yes pampers have a lot of chemicals in them, tons of babies get rashy. Best to get a bit of each in the first months.

I'd wait on the diapers. You could end up boxes and boxes of diapers. Kids grow at different rates. My daughter was in 2s for the longest time, but we also cloth diapered mostly, but still. Some kids stay in 1s for a long time. You'll have to wait and see. I think a box of newborn and size 1 and size 2 would be fine. Some kids do get rashy with pampers so that is another reason to wait--maybe those won't agree with your little one.

That's awesome though $900?!?!?!?! JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also wanted to slowly start stocking up on diapers but was told the same as the other ladies have said: you have no way of knowing how fast baby will grow out of each size (NB is only up to 10lbs so you could be onto size 1 right away almost!) and also lots of babies are sensitive to different brands etc so it would be a terrible waste to end up with thousands of diapers that you can't even use. why not use the 20% off for a bigger item that you are still in need of, like a swing or nursing chair or something higher priced? Then save the giftcard and know that you never really have to budget for baby supplies for the next few months because you can use that to buy diapers etc as you need.
ps I am jealous :D

thanks for the advise ladies, I think you guys are right... i'll just buy the monitor and the stroller/carseat then save the other 500 for when the babies here. I just hate losing out on that 20 percent off lol but i'll be throwing away a ton more if he does't like that brand. so it makes sense
