For the last week I've been feeling a bit odd. Mainly at night I've been waking with my heart racing (can hear it in my head/ears), sweating buckets, really anxious feeling like something's wrong, tons of what I assume are braxton hicks.

Are these preeclampsia symtoms? I mention above symptoms to my work colleague, plus the fact my vision seems slightly blurry and she said to get it checked out and mentioned preeclampsia.

I hadn't even thought about it. I just called midwife - didn't mention preeclampsia, just told her symptoms and she said might be anemic, didn't mention preeclampsia at all.

I'm seeing her thursday for blood test (and having my 20 week scan), but am worrying now. I'm only 20 weeks.

Blurriness can just happen in pregnancy and can go back to normal after giving birth. What was your blood pressure at your last appointment?

Yeah that's what I thought re eyesight as it isn't any major blurriness! I can't remember off the top of my head and my notes are at home. I know that a student midwife took it and said it was 134 over something? and the midwife made her check it again and it was lower. I assumed she got it wrong first time. I remember BP was low for first trimester and then went back to normal xx

I had pre e with my last. I think my Bp started going up around 24 weeks or so and reach a bad level (150/100) at 32 weeks and I was hospitalized overnight then I had to be induced a couple weeks later when it wouldn't come down.

I didn't experience any of what you have mentioned with my Pre-E last pregnancy

Is there anyway you can chk your BP at home? If not it's always better to be on the safer side and get yourself checked

After my pregnancy I bought an at home bp monitor, it has given me some peace of mind so far. If you are scared I recommend getting one.

Ask your midwife about it. My maternity clinic does a protein pee test with every visit. Maybe she has something similar. Ask & listen to her explanation. If that explanation doesn't put you at ease, then ask fr test or regular testing. X

I didn't have that and I had pre-e with my son. I had visual disturbances such as seeing swimming spots sometimes, but I don't recall your symptoms being listed as possibilities (then again I don't remember exactly). Your symptoms are definitely worth talking to your doctor, though! Also, if you're concerned about pre-e, just get a home blood pressure test- we got one and it's not too much money. Just take your bp a couple times a day and keep a record
